Sea-Inspired Decor

When choosing decor for this seaside baby shower, stick with a color palette of greens, blues and sand inspired colors. If you know what gender the baby is going to be, you can incorporate a little more blue for a boy or some purple if it’s a girl!

Once your palette has been decided on, it’s time to start finding pieces to decorate with! Decorate the space with some fun installations – like a grouping of tissue paper balls and accordion fans placed together (1) in a corner in the entryway or a balloon wall made to look like the ocean (8). You create visual interest when you add a big installation like one of these, and it makes for the perfect backdrop for photos or for mom-to-be to open gifts.

A Seaside Food Table

Your food and sweet treats tables are other places to incorporate sea-inspired decor for this seaside baby shower. A sequined tablecloth adds a touch of sparkle to the table (5), and clear glass apothecary jars and vases are perfect for holding candies and snacks. Use snacks that match the color palette so that their colors add to the decor of the shower (3), and plan your menu around the theme as well – these croissant sandwiches with googly eyes to make them look like crabs (2) are an adorable addition to the shower.

You can add some sea-inspired branches, shells and plants to the table to add to the theme and make guests feel like they are truly seaside.

Sweet Sentiments

Instead of games at this seaside shower, ask guests to write mom or baby a message and put it in a bottle (9) for her to read during hard times or late nights.

Give each guest a strip of paper and a pen when they arrive and let them think about what they’d like to write. They can be messages of hope for the baby’s future or funny stories or memories with the mom-to-be – just something that will lift her spirits when she needs an extra boost.

Once the message is written down, have guests place them in a bottle and present it to the new mom at the end of the shower.

Gifts for the Little One

If you’re wanting your gift for the little one to match the seaside baby shower theme, find sea-inspired apparel, toys or books to give to baby!

Gift sets are a wonderful way to match a gift to the theme. A plush octopus and starfish headband set (4) is an adorable gift idea. Or, a sweet little set with a swimsuit, towel, hat and beach bag (6) is perfect for a seaside escape for the little one and her parents.

When your gift matches the theme of the shower, mom-to-be can tell you went the extra mile and picked out a thoughtful gift for her little one.

A seaside baby shower is a perfect way to celebrate mom and baby – a relaxing day inspired by the ocean surrounded by the ones who love them.
